BRAND Values + BG5 (Human Design) Circuitry

Whether you are a spiritual entrepreneur starting a personal brand in Reiki healing or a business consultant helping high powered clients end self sabotage, you create a BRAND reputation with your customers and prospects.

One of the things I have noticed the most working with new personal brands is a lack of foundation within their brand.  In a world of desiring the "cosmic lottery" & fast cash without an understanding of business, people are missing the foundational pieces that not only give a brand their staying power but also help a brand stand out amongst competition.

Developing brand values that stand out and speak to who YOU are can be a challenge therefore I leverage BG5 for my branding clients to help cut through the fog and create something that stands out while clearing articulating what they stand for.

 

First, what are brand values?

 

Brand values are the fundamental beliefs that a company’s leadership and team stand for in their operations, industry, community, and the world. They're shared ideals that the team has adopted and chosen to represent. Quite simply, it is your neon flashing light that attracts people who stand for the same thing you do.

For example, one of my brand values is "Social Responsibility", and I have lived this out in front of my community by using my position & money to fund charitable work I am passionate about.  My community has also witnessed me go from working in a dark basement to buying a piece of land where I could start a farmed animal charity.  I also share about my work with Amnesty International, Green Peace, & WSPA both in Canada in Australia.  Further, I have brought this value into my brand language with phrases such as "good people do great things with more money" or "I believe that together we can change the world".  This brand language was born from my core value with my personal brand.

This strong positioning has led to people with similar values being attracted to my brand, which is a win win because those that are wanting to create change in this world are exactly those I enjoy working with the most.

 

Why are brand values important?

 

I described benefits above already, such as attracting the people you actually enjoy working with, however let's go deeper:

  • Establishes a strong brand identity: Your values are a guiding principle of your brand which leaves an impression on your audience while setting you apart from your competitors.  These values will guide daily operations, hiring, marketing, and the bond you create with people.  Choose wisely.
  • Guides decision-making: Brand values serve as a guidepost for internal decision-making that helps align your actions as well as employees towards a common goal. By having strong values everyone is working toward the same values and objectives within the brand. 
  • Differentiates you from competitors: The values you hold your brand to can help you differentiate your company from competitors. When you have strong values that your audience identifies with, they may be more willing to turn to your products or services, even if they’re similar to your competition.  For example, centering my sanctuary & rescue work allowed me to stand out amongst other people in the business/ Human Design space who may have been using their funds to travel or purchase expensive clothing.
  • Retains employees: Brand values also play a critical role in employee hiring, engagement, and retention. If your values align with your employee’s personal values, they are more likely to feel a sense of purpose in the work they do, resulting in an increase in engagement and loyalty.  Retaining the right people saves you time & money therefore hiring the right people is critical.
  • Strengthens brand reputation: Brands with strong values are often perceived as more authentic. By consistently showcasing your values through your actions you build loyalty & trust with your community.  Now, if you do not showcase that you are following through on your values & actions it can do the opposite within your brand.  Stand behind your values & show people why they are important to you through your actions.
  • Attracts the right customers: Clearly expressing your brand values can help you attract customers with similar perspectives, building a community of like-minded and loyal customers.  There is little worse than working with people that don't align with your values and what you believe in.  Your brand values will repel the wrong people and be a neon flashing light for the right people.

 

Leveraging BG5 for BRAND Clarity

 

When I work with clients one of the things I preach the most is "refine don't define with BG5".  This means that I get to know my clients as people, brainstorm values that are important to them, *then* refine that with BG5.  I personally believe it is inauthentic to create values because "BG5 told me to so that I can convert more".  Eek.

So, first, brainstorm things that are important to you.  Then, one of the areas we can look in the bodygraph is circuitry to help refine your brand values. Why circuitry?  Your definition can be described as your "strengths", a way you can differentiate yourself amongst competitors.  Further, it is how people are meant to see you.  We can take this energetic "signature" and turn it into aligned values, marketing, copywriting, branding, and more within your personal brand!

While I like to weave circuitry with other aspects of a clients bodygraph for creating their values, this is a starting point to jump off of within your own brand.

Wrapping up Brand Values

Your audience and community needs to believe in your brand in order to purchase from you and grow with you.
