Dark Goddess Rising: The Beauty Myth

I look forward to getting older…

As the older I get the less I focus on how I look, fitting in, if I have the right colours, feed, or online approved goddess vibe…

And more into surrendering into my work that is so much greater than myself.

I no longer, and less by the day,

worry about you SEEING me,

as it isn’t about me,

but hearing me & the words that move through me.

Less about external validation & more about the legacy I am leaving for life times to come.

Some of the most toxic sisterhoods & cultures I have been in are the most externally beautiful by patriarchal world standards..

Perfect feeds…. Luxury lifestyles…

Yet pulled back, behind the veil, it is all “ME”, no “WE”….

And in wounded maiden I was guilty of bleeding myself dry to try & be accepted within this…

Beauty is a currency system like gold, like an economy…

determined by politics..

And within assigning value to women based on beauty (physical, lifestyle, feed), due to a culturally imposed standard it sets women up to compete with one another for resources the patriarchy has appropriated for itself.

won’t do photoshoots…

I don’t care for head shots…

I have no desire to “look the part” in any sense of the word…

If I need a fancy photoshoot to convince someone to work with me I am not on MY path…

Because I am not interested in you seeing me….

I am interested in you hearing me.
